Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use NumberHolding. We are committed to handling your information responsibly and in line with UK data protection law.
1. Who we are
NumberHolding is operated by ONSIM Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08429703) with its registered office at 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE. For the purposes of UK data protection law, ONSIM Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number ZB740588). You can contact us about privacy at support@onsim.uk.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us:
- your name, email address and account password;
- the UK mobile number you ask us to keep active;
- the greeting message you set for callers;
- payment card details, which are collected and processed by our payment provider (we store only limited card information such as the card type and last four digits, plus a secure token — we do not hold your full card number);
- any information you include when you contact our support team.
Information we generate or receive in providing the service:
- the content of text messages (SMS) sent to your number, which we route to your email address;
- records of calls to your number, such as the calling number, date, time and duration;
- the status of your number transfer and your subscription and payment history;
- records of your activity in your account.
Technical information: when you visit our website we may collect your IP address, device and browser information, and information from cookies (see section 9).
3. How and why we use your information
We use your personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- To provide the service — keeping your number active, forwarding your texts, playing your greeting and showing your recent calls (to perform our contract with you).
- To take payment and manage your subscription (to perform our contract, and to meet our legal accounting and tax obligations).
- To communicate with you about your account, your number transfer and support requests (to perform our contract and for our legitimate interest in running the service).
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or misuse (for our legitimate interests and to comply with legal obligations).
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, including telecoms and tax requirements.
- To send you marketing only where you have given consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Text message content
When you use text forwarding, messages sent to your number — including their content, which may contain sensitive information such as banking or security codes — are routed through our systems to the email address on your account. We process this content only to deliver it to you and do not use it for any other purpose. We do not retain message content longer than necessary to provide the forwarding service.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run NumberHolding, and only as needed to provide the service. These include:
- our payment processor, for taking and managing payments;
- our cloud hosting and email delivery providers, which store our data and deliver your forwarded messages and account emails;
- our text-to-speech provider, which converts your greeting text into the audio callers hear;
- our accounting and invoicing software, for billing and tax records;
- the telecoms network and numbering partners needed to keep your number live and to transfer it in or out;
- professional advisers, regulators or authorities where we are required to share information by law.
We require our service providers to protect your data and to use it only on our instructions.
6. International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place — such as a UK adequacy regulation or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement — so that your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
7. How long we keep your information
We keep your account and service data for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle any queries, disputes or legal claims. We keep financial and transaction records for as long as required by law (generally six years). As noted above, message content is retained only transiently to deliver it to you.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw any consent you have given.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@onsim.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, though we would ask you to contact us first so we can try to help.
9. Cookies
Our website uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and, with your consent, cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on our site and through your browser settings.
10. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach where required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a significant change we will let you know, and the “last updated” date above will always show when it was last revised.
12. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at support@onsim.uk or write to ONSIM Ltd, 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE.
